Day at the Smithsonian

Given the unseasonable weather, with highs in the 60s, we decided to head into the city and see if we would have better luck at finding a parking place near the Smithsonian than we did on our failed attempt yesterday. As luck would have it, we parked right in front of the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum. In addition to the previously posted video of Ethan flying a plane, below are a few more memories from the day.

In this video, Ethan was fascinated by one of the more interactive exhibits, which teaches kids what makes an airplane wing work.

Of course, as you’ve seen, Ethan thoroughly enjoyed his time in the Cessna pretending to fly.

Then, after a few more exhibits, we took a break for lunch where Ethan proceeded to remind us how closely he pays attention to everything mom and dad do, including how we eat our fries apparently.

Finally, after a quick stop into the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History, we took a leisurely stroll along the National Mall where Ethan decided to stop every 8 feet to rearrange the gravel on the path. Thank goodness the NPS has kids like Ethan to keep the park neat and orderly.

What a great day…
